Architecture: m68k-amigaos >= 3.0 Distribution: NoCD Kurz: PrismaNG: Software fuer Prisma Megamix PrismaNG 3.2 -- 26.10.2026 WHAT IT IS The software for the Prisma Megamix, the Zorro II and clockport sound card built around VLSI Solution's VS1063a. The chip decodes MP3, Ogg Vorbis, AAC and FLAC by itself and records MP3, Ogg Vorbis and FLAC, so the Amiga only moves the data -- music on a 68000, with the CPU to spare. WHAT IS IN IT * prisma.library: how every program reaches the card * mhiprisma.library: the MHI driver, for AmigaAMP and other MHI players * prisma.audio: the AHI driver, ten modes, four of them full duplex * PrismaControl: the mixer, a commodity -- volume, balance, a 5-band EQ or bass and treble, the input monitor and level meters, one hotkey away (control lalt p); English and German, with a manual in each * PrismaPlay: the Shell player, with playlists, ARexx, internet radio and recording * PrismaRec: the recorder, a cassette deck -- REC, PLAY, PAUSE, the tape counter, the reels -- that records what the card hears into MP3, Ogg Vorbis, FLAC or WAV and plays the takes back; Deck '84 drawn on any screen and two decks of pictures (six more in the package PrismaRecSkins, mus/edit), an ARexx port with macros that record what EaglePlayer or HippoPlayer plays, a take a module; English and German with a manual in each * PrismaModes: plays a quiet tone in each AHI mode, ticks those your Amiga manages and puts the ones you confirm into AHI's list * PrismaEncode and prismadsp.library: a sound file -- WAV, AIFF, FLAC, MP3, Ogg Vorbis, AAC, WMA and more -- into MP3, Ogg Vorbis or a WAV format, encoded by the card's chip (a WAV faster than real time even on a 68000; the compressed ones decoded by the chip too); with a manual * Normalise: a recording's loudest peak to a level (16-bit PCM WAV) * SplitTracks: a recorded record side cut into its tracks at the breaks, not fooled by crackle or rumble (16-bit PCM WAV) * SetPrisma, PrismaDiag, PrismaState, MHIState, PrismaBench, AHIBench, AddPrismaModes and PrismaRecTest: Shell tools * VLSI Solution's VS1063a patch package 2.6, which the driver loads into the chip: fixes, and the FLAC encoder INSTALLATION Double-click Install. The programs go into a drawer called Prisma, wherever you choose (SYS:Tools by default); S:User-Startup gets "Assign Prisma:" and "Path Prisma: ADD", so every Shell finds PrismaPlay by name. PrismaRec goes there too unless you choose another drawer for it, with its two decks of pictures if you want them. The libraries go to LIBS:, the drivers and the patch files to DEVS: -- the AHI driver only where AHI is installed -- and PrismaControl into SYS:WBStartup when the installer finds a card. With AHI, the installer then opens PrismaModes: a minute of measuring, and you choose the AHI modes to keep. Run it again from the Prisma drawer whenever the machine changes.
