MarranoFTP 0.65 (26.01.2008 02:01)
Much time has passed between the first release of mFTP and this new version, im
very sorry for
this, but i was very busy with other (paid) projects so i couldn't find the
time to work on mFTP
like i wished to, i also honestly was a bit low in motivation.
Even though my life is still very complicated, made of many things to do
(school, work, booze,
gym, relax), i hope i'll find the time to improve mFTP over the coming months,
in the meanwhile
the new version should give some nice new features over the last, released
almost one year ago.
Changes:
- Pressing the top/left close window button closes mFTP instantly, if a
download has been previously
started mFTP will close the file handle to avoid permanent "'till reboot
lock" on the file.
Using the QUIT button ensures proper way of quitting from the FTP.
- MarranoFTP now has a preliminary PASSIVE connection support, this greatly
improves
compatibility with aros installations behind firewalls/routers. To enable
passive connection
choose "Passive" in the address book / Transfer type, section (default is
Active, this might
change in future)
- Added a save button to save the configuration file immediatly (this was
mostly added on request
by "Error" :-) )
- Configuration is loaded from either PROGDIR: or from a MARRANO: assign
- Uploading of whole directory trees is now supported, it's still a bit buggy
but mostly works
- A queue window has been added/improved, honestly i don't even remember if the
previous version
had it :)
- Other changes i forgot
Bugfixes:
- MarranoFTP no longer uses stdlib fopen() calls to read/write files, this
sometimes caused
problems when writing to hard-disk instead of RAM:
- Stupid "upside/down" ordering of address book contents on save/reload has
been fixed
- Many things i forgot
Known Issues:
- Running mFTP in low screen resolutions is currently a problem, i will try to
fix this in the next releases
- Downloading whole directory trees doesn't work, Please do not attempt to.
However downloading every file from
the same remote path works fine, to do this multiselect files to download,
press download and then
press the "Run Queue" button
- Some buttons in the main window still do not work, i will work on important
things before
implementing them
- Some annoying things may still happen, usually pressing stop and retrying the
last operation works
fine
- MarranoFTP is done in the "Lazy Mui Way", it currently uses
"Mainloop/ReturnID" architecture instead of
the much better custom class structure, this will be implemented in future in
a major core rewrite (im lazy)
Greetings and Thanks:
