The original MS-DOS version was written by Stefan Jokisch, the Amiga port by David Kinder and Ingo Paschke. The feature list is: - support for V1 to V8 games - timed input ('Border Zone') - built-in graphic font ('Beyond Zork') - mouse support ('Beyond Zork' and all V6 games) - function key support including number pad keys ('Beyond Zork') - command line editing and history - small save files in Quetzal format - switch for setting the Tandy bit - sound effects ('Lurking Horror' and 'Sherlock') - cheat functions - multiple UNDO (via hot key, even for old V1 to V4 games) - input line recording and playback (via hot key) - support for European characters ('Zork I German') - underlined, reverse and boldface text - fast performance without virtual memory - V6 graphical games with picture display Changes in Release 20: - Fixed verification, restart, saving and restoring for games packaged in Blorb files (.zblorb and .zlb). - Restored sound effects loaded from separate Infocom sample files and fixed playback of supported sounds embedded in Blorb files. - Fixed default save, transcript, recording and auxiliary filenames in FrotzStdIO. Long game paths and filenames no longer cause crashes or overwrite memory. - Games can save and load auxiliary files without a filename prompt when they request it. - Fixed incorrect colours and picture rendering, including colour display on public screens. - Fixed crashes when resizing a window while editing a full input line. - Damaged resource, preferences and sound-name files no longer cause the identified crashes or hangs. - Fixed dialog return values so requester choices are handled correctly. - Removed the ineffective -R option and old-save Preferences checkbox. Saving and restoring use Quetzal format; pre-Quetzal saves remain unsupported. Changes in Release 19: - Updated the interpreter to Frotz 2.55, bringing upstream game compatibility improvements and bug fixes. - Save and restore use Quetzal format.
