Short: .MID sequence of Rachmaninoff 4th Piano Concerto, 1st movement Author: Gary Goldberg (GaryG@ix.netcom.com) Uploader: Gary Goldberg (GaryG ix netcom com) Type: mods/midi Architecture: generic This is a .MID sequence of the 1st movement of Rachmaninoff's 4th Piano Concerto. It is sequenced for the Proteus 2 Orchestral sound module and a Korg P3 piano module. You will have to delete the program changes in the orchestral tracks (there are none in the Piano track) to play this sequence with another MIDI setup. Program changes are in the 1st measure; in addition, they are found when the string sections switch from bowed to pizzicato (I had to do this to minimize the number of channels used). You will also find that the French Horn track uses 3 different programs (for soft horns, loud horns, and section horns). Also, you'll find that the Pizz Violins track has occasional program changes to keep number of orchestral channels down to 16. In bars 113-130 and bars 249-257 the patch is for pizz basses. In bars 300-304 pizz violas are used. I've lowered the pitch of all notes played by the Basses by an octave since most modules do not transpose down notes played by this instrument as the Proteus 2 does. --Gary Goldberg National Capital Amiga Users Group
