NFS-GUI writes, loads and mounts the DOSDriver for nfs-handler, the
AmigaOS 3 NFSv3 client built on filesysbox.library.
Editing a DOSDriver by hand means remembering a ReadArgs template, the
transfer size limits and which protection bits Mount needs. NFS-GUI puts
all of it in one window, mounts it on the spot, and shows what the
commands printed.
FEATURES
- Writes a DOSDriver to SYS:Storage/DOSDrivers, or to any drawer, with
the Workbench icon needed to mount it by double-click.
- Reads an existing DOSDriver back into the form, Startup line included,
so a mount can be edited instead of retyped.
- Accepts both Startup syntaxes: "HOST EXPORT" as used by nfs-handler,
and the older single word "host:/export" of AmiNFSv3.
- Mounts and dismounts from the window, echoing what Mount and
FbxDismount print into an event logger.
- Checks before mounting that filesysbox.library is present, that the
DOSDriver and the handler are readable, and that StackSize is at
least 65536.
USAGE
Fill in the server address and the export path; everything else already
has a usable default. Then Save DOSDriver, then Mount.
The Mount tab holds the handler, the device name, the destination
drawer, the icon switch, and the export itself: server address, export
path, volume name, UID, GID and a read-only switch.
The Advanced tab holds Stacksize, Priority, a time zone override and the
transfer tuning (RSIZE, WSIZE, DEPTH). Leave the time zone empty unless
you need to override locale.library.
At startup the GUI loads the DOSDriver already present in the
destination drawer, if there is one.
INSTALLATION
Copy NFS-GUI (and its icon) anywhere you like, SYS:Tools for instance.
The program itself only needs MUI. Mounting needs nfs-handler in L: and
filesysbox.library in LIBS:.
NOTES
The Startup line of a DOSDriver is quoted, so an export path containing
a space cannot be expressed; the GUI warns instead of writing something
that will not mount.
GlobVec is always written as -1, the only valid value for a handler
written in C, so the GUI does not ask for it.
Dismounting uses FbxDismount, which ships with filesysbox, and not the
NFSDismount of the original AmiNFSv3 handler.
