This is a simple, user-friendly and fast level editor for the game
EMERALD-MINE 1.
The level editor also works for Emerald-Mine 2 and 3,
but ignores the high scores.
As Emerald-Mine 2 and 3 are the same game (just with different levels),
it is recommended to use Emerald-Mine 1.

The programme is freeware.

Installation:
The programme must be in the same drawer as the game.

Starting the programme:
When starting from the CLI, the path to the levels must be specified
as a parameter, e.g. "EMLE df0:".
When starting from the Shell, the path to the levels can be specified.

Functions:

Pulldown menu functions:

- Load	Loads a PlayField
(in Emerald Mine 1, the corresponding high scores
are also displayed as a (fixed) pull-down menu)
(the playfield is brought to the foreground so that everything is visible)

- Load +	Loads the next PlayField (browse)
(if the PlayField-window is active, you can also use the "+" key)

- Load -	Loads the previous PlayField (browse)
(if the PlayField-window is active, you can also use the "-" key)

- Save	Saves a PlayField
In Emerald Mine 1, the corresponding HighScore will be deleted.

- Clear	Fills the entire PlayField with the selected object.
All objects are possible except Player 1 and 2.

- Info	Displays information about many objects, such as:
	- how often they appear,
	- how many points they are worth,
	- how many points could theoretically be achieved.

- Quit	Exits the programme

- Cut	Saves an area and fills the area in the PlayField
	with the currently selected object
This allows rectangular areas to be filled with an object
	(without using the copied area)

- Copy	Saves an area

- Paste	Inserts an area saved to the clipboard using 'Copy' or 'Cut'
	into the game area.
Areas can be copied from one level to another.
The function can be cancelled by clicking the right mouse button.

Additional functions:

- Flip Object Window
Clicking the right mouse button moves the Object-Window with the 99 objects
to the front or to the back.

- Set values (in the left-hand window)
Clicking on the top 4 of the 8 pixels of a number increases that number.
Clicking on the bottom 4 of the 8 pixels of a number decreases that number.
Negative numbers or values exceeding the maximum are not permitted.

- Place Eater/Bugs/Spaceship-ReplaceObjects (in the left-hand window)
If such an object explodes during play, 9 new objects appear in its place.
Objects can be placed in the 4 white squares of the left-hand window.
Objects can only be placed single here and many objects are not permitted.

- Undo	(in the PlayField)
If you place an object on top of an identical object,
the previous object is brought back.

- Write text (in the Playfield)
Place any object on the playing field and type from left to right.
Only the keys visible in the object window are available,
+ SPACE key + BACKSPACE key.
Lowercase letters are converted to uppercase

- Get object from the PlayField
If you press a 'qualifier' key (CTRL, SHIFT or ALT), you can use
the left mouse button to select an object from the PlayField.
(Then you do not need the object window)

- HighScores are displayed as read-only pulldown-menus (only Emerald-Mine 1).

Note:
I abandoned the level editor in August 1994 whilst it was still unfinished,
due to a lack of motivation (Commodore went bankrupt).
In September 2024, I was gripped by Amiga fever once again and,
after a few other small programmes, I finally finished programming it in
April 2026.
