LayView shows printed circuit boards drawn with Sprint-Layout 6 (.lay6)
and boards given as Gerber + Excellon drill files (or a ZIP of them), the
files PCB makers work with. It is a viewer: it does not change the files.
Features
--------
- 2D view: all layers (copper, silkscreen, inner layers, outline), the
ground plane with clearances and thermals, through-hole pads in their
own color, color schemes (Sprint-Layout, Eagle, KiCad, dark, paper),
top or bottom side, part numbers and values on or off, whole
silkscreen on or off.
- Photo view: a side as the made board looks (solder mask, gold or tin
finish, silkscreen).
- X-ray: all layers see-through, in 2D and 3D.
- 3D view: the board as made, from any side, with drill holes and edges.
Wireframe while you drag, the full picture when you let go. Choice of
mask color, finish and board thickness.
- PiStorm3D: on a PiStorm with a Raspberry Pi 4 the 3D view can be drawn
by the Pi's graphics chip (minigl.library), a few ms per picture
without antialiasing.
- Pan, wheel zoom, Fit, Zoom 100% (real size, for your monitor's size),
turning in 45 degree steps or freely, a grid with rulers in mm or inch.
- Info window: board summary and a parts list; pick a part to find it on
the board, or click a part on the board.
- Antialiasing (2x2, 3x3) on screens with more than 256 colors.
- Runs on RTG (CyberGraphX, Picasso96) and native screens, down to 4
colors.
- Exports: IFF ILBM, PNG and JPEG pictures of the view; Gerber RS-274X +
Excellon drill files (choose which, one ZIP if wanted); a 1:1 PDF, one
page per layer (mirrored for toner transfer if wanted); parts list and
placement files (CSV, as JLCPCB expects them).
- Gerber import (RS-274X/X2 + Excellon, from KiCad and other CAD
programs); LayView works out which file is which layer.
- Settings are saved; a full AmigaGuide manual (HELP key).
Requirements
------------
- 68030 or better with FPU (68881/68882, or a 68040/68060).
- AmigaOS 3.1 or newer, MUI 3.8 or newer.
- About 2 MB of free memory for a typical board, more for big boards
and the 3D view (with PiStorm3D about 6 MB more).
- Recommended: a graphics card and a screen with more than 256 colors.
- Optional: PiStorm + Raspberry Pi 4 with PiStorm3D's minigl.library.
Installation
------------
Copy the LayView drawer wherever you like. Double-click LayView, or
Shift-click board files and double-click LayView, or start it from the
