These are screen shots from my BBS and from ORC. ORC is our new
IRC client that we wrote for Cnet systems, although, it will work
completely free of Cnet in a shell or any other standard window.
	Some of its features include;

	- Full ansi color (not tough, but I don't see AmyIRC doing it)
	- Tab completion of nick names and more
	- IRCRC support
	- RExx port with full display out functions
	- Cnet support
	- VR utils integration into Cnet.
email and talk notifycations and more
pulls users data and even creates a IRC nick
		from their handle.
	- Takes almost no processor time. This was a problem with
AmyIRC for Cnet sysops. For some reason it would take %100
CPU time for almost every system I spoke with. This killed
their system and starting locking processes. We ran 50 copies
of ORC at once with the CPU usage barely moving. We were NOT
in busy channels tho. Just sitting idle.
	- Detects screen terminal size for compliant terminals, unfortunately
most lame IBM terminals that aren't up to date don't work right
so it defults to 24x80. Terminus and most others work great.
procomm and ripterm for the IBM seem to work fine.

This is the main prompt of my BBS. I am typing IRC here to
execute my irc.rexx program. This is the front end into ORC. it passes
the needed varibles and helps the user choose a nick name.

orc.002

This is the entrance message displayed by irc.rexx. I keep it
with a bunch of standard systext files for inet programs.

orc.003

This is the opening screen when you enter ORC. That is the cute
ORC whale :) this is where it attempts a connection to the server.

orc.004

Here I am just passing the MOTD file from irc.neosoft.com. I am
going to Enter #amiga now.

orc.005

I am in Amiga now and people have started chatting. This should
give you just a bit of a look on how ORC looks for the output of IRC.
Keep in mind it is far from done, but still looks and feels better than
anything for a bbs so far.

orc.006

	More chatting... wow

orc.007

Now this is a neat feature of ORC. The arexx port works both ways
you can run a rexx program or get output from a rexx program while in ORC
here I have run status.rexx which is kept in vr:orc/status.rexx this merely
gave me a status list of what is going on, on my A3000. simple, but nice to
have overall.

orc.008

who.rexx this just gives me a tacky list of who is online. this
is all going to be rewritten. It is just going to take me a while...

orc.009

Aminetfind. inspired by Josef in IRC. I looked at his program
wrote myself a Cnet version. From that I wrote the ORC version. The way
this works is you can enter any search string and within about 5 seconds
ORC will pump back any files that have that string in their filename or
the index desciption. It is really a great utils to have while your jamming
in ORC #amiga.

orc.010

This is my internet menu. this is what my users see and play with.
I Have several commands available from any prompt. all these commands use
VR utils.. all the little rexx scripts I wrote.

ORC was entirely programmed in C by Travis Pascoe. The ANSI screen
jumping came from me and several of the color and rexx port ideas were
devised thru many hours of us hassling over which way is better to do what.
All cnet support and integration is done by me. Travis Pascoe goes by Pascoe
in IRC and can be found in #bible or #amiga quite a bit. I go by MustangVR
in IRC and am always in #amiga.

ORC is beta and not in release to the general public yet. It should
be released soon with VR utils and as a separate package. We should have
100% Cnet and bbs support worked into it by the release time.

Virtual reality runs its own IRC server. we are going to start a
complete Cnet network of IRC systems soon you are welcome to join. We will
be completely replacing Cnets join command with a newer ORC version.

email me at mustang@vrb.com with any questions suggestions or whatever

telnet to vrb.com and check out our system if you'd like. We hope to have
a complete ISDN linkup soon.
