Q is an enhancement to AmigaOS designed to provide a cross platform
emulation much like Emplant, but entirely through software.

Q uses a modular system called "Descriptors." Descriptors are a platform
independent way to describe hardware and software dependencies to the Q
system interface.  Using a descriptor, Q attempts to translate an
executable from a source platform to the target platform where it would
exist in the target machine's native machine language (Of course not
everything can be translated, usually only the basics.  However this is
often enough to achieve fairly good speed.  Anything that can't be
translated has to be emulated through traditional methods.).

Q is currently in beta testing and a demo is expected to be released in the
first quarter of 1996. More details to follow.
