Once upon a time, I used a very nice 16 colors pointer, thanks to MCP... but
when I bought my CyberVision64, I sadly discovered that CV couln't show up
the pointer in more than 2 colors + background color. I suppose this is a
limit of the S3 chip, because also on PC compatible, you can use only 2 colors
+ background pointer.
So i deleted my cool 16 colors pointer and I used a very boring Mac-Like
pointer, using only 2 colors.
Last week I made some try with PointerPrefs, and I discovered that the forth
color was showed strangly by the CyberVision: when you use this color in the
pointer, u'll be able to see thru that color... with a strange remapping.
It looks like a XOR filter or something similar. So I thought... if there's a
defect and you can't hide it... it's better to highlite it !
So I made up a normal pointer (a nice arrow) and I filled it with this strange
looking color... well, It looked a bit strange in the first 10 minutes, but
then I start liking it... and now I love it ! On screen upto 8bit, it make
a strange look-fx, on screen >8bit, the pointer will show a nice Negative
effect: if you, for example, point on a yellow gadget, you'll see the gadget
thru the pointer, but it will be blue !
After that I drawed a busy pointer, using only two colors... and here it's
my little work.
USE IT AY YOUR OWN RISK !! :)
Another special feature is that, when you PC-user-friend will ask you how did
you do that pointer, you'll be able to say: "Only Amiga makes it possible!" :)
