MegaStat is a new statistic  generator for use with the Spot
     Fidonet pointing program.

     MegaStat is a cross between EchoStat by  Phil  O'Malley  and
     AreaStat  by  Brian Jacobson, except with many more features
     added.

     

                        MegaStat Features

     o MegaStat has two ways of message  sorting,  one  where  by
       Spot  saves  out  every  message, gaining more information
       (Average message size, quote ratios  etc.)  but  lacks  in
       speed.  Alternatively  MegaStat  just  scans the header is
       much faster!

     o Tables produced include:

              * Writer Table
              * Receiver Table
              * Quote Blacklist Table
              * Subjects Table
              * Tearline Table
              * Node Traffic Table
              * Hourly Usage Graph
              * Daily Usage Graph

     o Ability to disable/enable any of the tables via config  or
       on every use of the script.

     o Period of message scan for inclusion in  the  stat  tables
       can     be     selected     from     pre-defined     menus
       (Week/Fortnight/Month), alternatively the user can  define
       start  and  finish dates, or select for ALL the message to
       be processed.

     o "Multiple" stats allow you to select more than  one  area,
       all treated as single area and a MegaStat message produced
       for each one. Handy for those that produce stats for  more
       than one area!

     o "Joint" stats allow you to select more than one  area  and
       treat  all the messages in these areas as one area (unlike
       the Multiple Stat option) and  provide  a  large  combined
       stat message.

     o Usenet ":" quoting is treated identical to  normal Fidonet
       standard quoting (">").

     o Has extensive  command  line  options,  making  automation
       easy. Want to use a cron program to create large stats for
       your areas while in bed? MegaStat allows you  to  do  this
       with no user intervention at all!

     o Logs are produced as a  file  and/or  a  message  in  Spot
       depending  on  user preference. Use these to check if your
       stat went according to how you wanted it, if  you  weren't
       there.

     o Config file for ease of use and full automation of certain
       aspects of MegaStat.

     o Plus many other advantages  over  other  scripts  such  as
       EchoStat and AreaStat...
