The PowerVisor source.

This is the source of PowerVisor. It corresponds mostly with the
latest version of PowerVisor (version 1.42) with some new work
for what was going to be PowerVisor version 1.43 (or 1.50).

Due to lack of time I will not continue the development and support
of PowerVisor. Therefore I decided (because someone asked me) to
make the source freely available. This means that you can do anything
you want with the source EXCEPT MAKING MONEY WITH IT!!!

The PowerVisor source should be free and remain free. You can use
it as example code for writing other debuggers or you can even use
it as a base for an all-powerful super-debugger :-)  In the last case
I would prefer that you mention my name (and 'PowerVisor') somewhere
in your program so that I get some credit (and maybe you can mail or
write me so that I know of your program).

Although I won't give much support anymore I'm still available to
answer questions about the source or about PowerVisor. Keep in mind
that it has been a while so I may not be always able to help you.
But I can (and will) try.



Some comments about this archive. It contains all sources that I was
using at the last moment before deciding that I couldn't continue due
to lack of time. This means that test-sources and other stuff that
don't really belong directly to PowerVisor are also included.
PowerVisor 1.43 was going to be a new version with better support for
MMU and Memory Protection and support for more processors (68020, 68030,
68040, ...). These changes are reflected in the files pv_68030.asm and
pv_mmu.asm. The old version of pv_mmu.asm is also included (this one
corresponds with the PowerVisor 1.42 version). pv_68030.asm was not
used in PowerVisor 1.42.

Some other work that you will also find in the archive are the layout_...
files. These are C++ classes that were an experiment to try to rewrite
the Window management code of PowerVisor in C++. This is non-functional
but you can use it for whatever you want. I don't think that these are
good examples of C++ code. I think I would do it much better and
differently with my current knowledge of C++.
