Overview:

This is an Amiga port of the PC game Duke Nukem 3D and is based on the old
Atari/Amiga ports with some newer features from Chocolate Duke added for some
extra flavour.
I actually did this port years ago and never released it for some reason,
thought I should probably release it before it was lost off my hard drive
forever;)

Requirements:

1) An AGA Amiga (PAL only) with a 68060 processor
2) AHI installed (v4.18 highly recommended for real 68k users)
3) 3.1 ROMS (3.0 ROMS may cause it to run slowly)
4) A copy of the PC Duke Nukem 3D data files (must be the Atomic version)

Configuration Options:

You must run AmiDuke from the WB, running from the Shell is not supported.
You should specify a stack of at least 300,000 (the icon does this for you BTW).
The AHI device used will be the one configured in your AHI Prefs (music unit).

Performance Considerations:

 1) You should always patch exec.library's CopyMem() and CopyMemQuick() routines
for faster processor specific versions.
 2) Try reducing the audio playback frequency down to 8k if you're still having
performance issues.
 3) If you are using Paula, stick with the 'FAST' 8/14 bit modes for AHI (prefs)
- a real 16 bit card may be faster with a 16 bit mode.
 4) This game really hits the hard drive so you'll need a fast transfer rate for
the newer games (see below)
 5) FFS is really really slow, use PFS3 instead
 6) Loading your ROM into FASTRAM is a great idea (see below)
 7) If you have a Blizzard you should really be using BlizKick to get most speed
out of your Amiga, Apollo users should be using RemApollo.
 8) Stick with v4.18 of AHI as the later versions without the 'FAST' modes are
very slow

Limitations:

1) No network or multi-player support
2) No RTG support
3) No music support (sorry guys)
