This is the source code release of the latest full version of the RiVA MPEG
Player as it was released in 2004. It is now made available for free to the
wonderful Amiga community.

I would like to thank everyone for their support, including those who
registered, betatested, provided feedback and bug reports or words of
encouragement.

This was the first serious software I have ever written and it has been a
truly memorable journey, from a little tool that would simply print the
width and height of MPEG videos slowly evolving into a full-blown video
player capable of playing MPEG movies at enjoyable frame rates on a 68k
Amiga, something I was not sure would be possible in the beginning.

Anyway, I'm sorry it took so long to make the full version available for
everyone but here it is now and I hope that many will enjoy it for a long
time to come.

Stephen Fellner

Source code release notes by Henryk Richter:

The files in this archive consist of the unmodified original RiVA 0.50
source code, written by Stephen Fellner and László Török. It was Stephen`s
intention to free the source code and at the same time to keep it that way.
Hence, it was agreed to release the software under the terms and conditions
of the GNU general public license. You`ll find the text of the GPL (version 2)
within this archive. The only change to the files is the GPL notice on top.

RiVA takes advantage of several special output options in CyberGraphX and
Picasso96. As I don`t know whether the respective developer include files
are (freely) available to the general public, I refrained from putting
them in the archive. Please note that MPEGA did not include official ASM
headers, so that the ASM people were mostly writing down includes of their
own.

RiVA includes provisions for assmbling with DevPac and ASM-One.
