1571 TO 1541 v1.0 written by Spot / Up Rough.



What is it?


A tiny proggy that turns your 1571 (C64 diskdrive) into a 1541 drive.

Yes. This piece was a real pain in the ass to write, as the whole code
is two whole lines long. =)



Why?

I wanted to connect my 1571 C64 diskdrive to my Amiga.
So I downloaded Easy1541 from aminet, thinking that it had to be
compatible with the 1571 diskdrive aswell. I was wrong.
After some research I found out that a 1571 diskdrive can
be forced into 1541 mode. And so i wrote this small piece of
code and my 128D worked happilly with Easy1541.

It will probably work with other C64<>AMIGA programs, that have
problems with the 1571 drive too. Try it out!

How?

1. Start your 128D.
2. Enter C64 mode. (GO64)
3. Type -->  OPEN 1,8,15,"U0>M1":CLOSE 1 --> Then press return.
4. Mount the C64 diskdrive from your Amiga. It should now work.
5. Transfer 1571to1541.d64 to your 1571 drive.

Done!

The next time you want to transfer files between your 128 and your Amiga,
just turn on your 128 and run 1571 TO 1541 then turn on your amiga and you
are ready to rock!
