This animation has its story. It was hand drawn by Vladimir Barreto, Ruthceleny
Neuville, Atilio Fini, Carlos Reyes and (of course) me, when i was the chief
of the networking team at Inelectra (Caracas, Venezuela). All of us where part
of the crew and contributed as much as we could to the final work ... using ... PCs.
This happened when the first VGA color monitors where arriving to the company and
being connected to the ethernet network. We decided to surprise everyone and
installed the animation to be run from the login script of the Novell network servers
so it was automatically displayed whenever someone logged in to the network. At that
time, everybody was worried about the dangerouse viruses that menaced their files and
machines, that's why the 'operator's pet' called by us 'Operito', sticks its head out
from the border of the screen and then jumps into action, to scare the viewer. After
that, it says "no se asuste, no soy un virus" = "don't be afraid, i'm not a virus",
but the shock was already started !

... ho ho ho ...

The first day of the 'presentation', early in the morning, you could hear the big
laughs coming from everywhere there was a color monitor. People run from their
work places to see the unexpected spectacle. But the real spectacle (for us) was
seeing all of them with their radiant faces. Something rarely seen in the company's
atmosphere.

So, that was a merrier Christmas.

The color was, by then, a novelty in the pc universe. People didn't know the Amiga.
... more ho ho ho ... but i did.

Now, the technical note:

This animation was hand drawn using the pc ancient Animator package.

	Original resolution: 320x200
	Colors: 256
	Suggested playing speed: 10 FPS

I converted the original Animator file to IFF frames on the Amiga, and then, using
Art Deparmet Professional, reassembled an ANIM5 animation. After that, a MPEG version
was necessary for multiplatform porting, so i made it.

You can find the original animation ANIM5 at Aminet pix/anim/Operito1.lha
And the MPEG-1 stream at Aminet pix/mpg/Operito2.mpg

If you own an Amiga, get the ANIM5. It is of much better quality than the MPEG.

Enjoy it.

If you play this anim, i would like to hear from you. Just send me an email.

Other anim i produced: at Aminet pix/mpg/SuperFlight.mpg
                                 pix/mpg/PlanetusTales1.mpg
                                 pix/anim/PlanetusTales.lha (ANIM5)

If you like my work and you are looking for professional animations for commercial
use, PLEASE contact me !!! I'm suffering of an ADC desease and need the money.
I can produce VHS, Hi8, and CD-R/RW (data and/or audio) formats. Professional
analog and digital audio and video processing, 8 and Super8 mm film conversion,
old plastic longplay disks conversion, etc.
