This is a work inprogress (WinP) done with Imagine.
I use scans of postcards collected during travels through europe, and
some photographs I've taken. I should give credit for some:

Window: from a real window in la chiesa di Santa Croce in Florence, Italy
Book: from choral books in monastery (??) in Siena, Italy.
Picture: Ghirlandaio Fresco from Sta. Maria Novella in Florence, Italy

The table woodgrain was scanned from a floor tiling sample. I made the
feather with Dpaint (color map & transparency map -- any suggestions as
to the glitch of black just above the inkwell??). The rest are Imagine's
procedural textures.

I say in progress, because I still want to build more objects for the
scene, and fix a lot of things. For instance: phong artifacting on wall
around window; bad use of textures on walls/floor; bad lighting...

I'm not sure if I would consider this one of my artworks... it's more of
an experiment in some Imagine gimmicks and object building. See the
"mjf.MedvlStudyZoom.jpg" for a closeup of the crystal ball if you like.

I would appreciate any suggestions/observations/critique. I am pursuing
my BFA at UofWisconsin Madison, and find that most of the art professors
and my fellow art students haven't much to say about computer art. It's
natural, of course, but I would like to get more feedback.

I am attempting to explore new ideas in 3D imaging, and trying to go beyond
shiny balls on the checkerboard look. (OK, so this one is pretty
conventional... bad example! :)

These pix are my first posting on the net of my work.

ENJOY! But please remember, they are mine...
