My apologies to anyone who expected to find a raytraced Humphrey Bogart! :)
I just thought this title would be more interesting than "Eye", the title
it was originally published as.
This picture actually has a little history behind it. I originally created
the object a couple of years back, and an early picture (done in scanline
mode, i.e. no reflections or shadows) of it appeared in the slideshow "Hell
in Heaven" (see demo/slide/crm-hih).
Last year the Norwegian TV channel NRK2 started an experimental Internet
program called Spider. (If you know Norwegian, check out their site at
www.nrk.no/spider) As part of the experiment (which came to a end - for now
at least - this last April) they asked viewers to send in (or rather
upload) pictures and music some of which would then be used in the program.
After the second season had started, I decided to give it a try and made a
new version of my eye picture in "Spider format" (720 x 576, JPEG format),
this time in trace mode (which took about 17½ hours to finish). A couple of
days after uploading it, the picture appeared on TV, but only for a few
seconds and under someone else's name!
Well, after my Amy has been working for that long I thoght I'd give it a
bit more exposure than three seconds under a wrong name, so... here it is.
Share And Enjoy, or Go Stick Your Head In a Pig. (Motto of Sirius
Cybernetics before and after the sign collapsed under its own weight)
If you have nothing better to do, feel free to visit my website at
www.angelfire.com/ny/wontolla. And if you are good at drawing cats, have a
look at pix/misc/cheshire.lha here on Aminet.
Oh, and if you would rather have an IFF version (24 bit) of the picture,
dropping me a note should take less time than doing the (re)conversion
yourself.
