Installation: Assign your MAME directory as "MAME:" in your
Startup-Sequence.
Copy the file and icon to the location of your choice
Usage: Launch game by double clicking the icon. Some games
will ask for a screenmode, this can be changed in
the configuration.
Configuration: Use an editor to change the arguments given to MAME
for the game. There are two configuration lines and
further instructions in the text file.
set gamename <name-of-rom> ; do not use .zip
set mameargs <arguements> ; example "window"
Exceptions: MAMEcons are not a game-manager replacement. The best
use for MAMEcons are for a shortcut to a few favorite
games.
Participation: MAMEcons is an open project. To make your own, use
your favorite window/screen grabber to make a PNG
image of the game-screen. Reduce the size of the
image (1/3 or 1/2 usually works), and rename the
picture from FILE.png to FILE.info.
Using an editor, open an existing MAMEcon and change
the $VER: line, the gamename, and the arguements.
Save as the new FILE, where FILE is the same as the
icon name.
This readme may be included, and changed as
necissary for any new MAMEcons. As a minimum,
Change the "Short:, "Uploader," and "Author" above.
Optionally, bump the "Pack:" number, and include
a description (such as 002 Atari, 003 Capcom).
A Name list may be included. Do not attach the
rom files themselves.
