various unarchivers
Replaces: util/arc/Repack35b.lha
Version: 3.6
This is Repack version 3.6, a bugfix of version 3.5b
Note : Sorry to Andrea, but I have never been able to get this script to
work as it should, when repacking LZX archives. This has been a MAJOR
problem, seeing as I wanted the script to compress all 4500 PD
archives, and using the individual directories by hand takes AGES...
I did it about 3 years ago !!!! :-)
I've also made the docs a lot more easier to understand. I can't be
bothered to convert it to a guide... Well, not yet anyway
New in version v3.6 - updated by me (Steptoe)
- fixes problem with LZX repacking,using multi_select. Now works,but not a
very neat way of doing it
- see LzxRePack.readme about the problem,or was it just me and my system ???
New in version 3.5b:
- fixed broken code that prevented correct use with multi-archives. Now it
work as it should.
- fixed Tar-gzipped extraction and managment.
Repack stands for: Recursive Enhanced Pratical Archive Conversion Kit.
It's an Arexx script that converts entire directories of archives of various
formats to LZX.
It's better than any other similar LZX repacker because:
- all the operating parameters can be chosen through Reqtools requesters or on
the command line.
- it repacks archives RECURSIVELY! This comes very useful if you need to
convert those distribution made of many .lha files archived together.
- can handle most of the used archivers|packers: Lha, Arc, Zoo, Pak, Zip, Arj,
Rar, Xarc, Hpack, Gzip, Tar, Tar-gzipped.
- works either on single files or entire directories.
- is SAFE! If anything goes wrong while repacking, no harm will be done to the
original files.
- includes a special option, called 'BBS mode' made especially for BBS like
DLG-pro or C-Net; if this mode is enabled, Repack will copy the original
comment and datestamp of the old archive to the new .LZX .
- there's also a one-shot single-file version useful for C-Net systems.
- works even with nasty file and directories names that includes spaces.
- can recurse through sub-directories.
- has an add-and-omit files option (to get rid of or add #?.displayme kind of
files - see doc!).
- can take advantage of the registered version of LZX.
- has a log file.
It's FREEWARE so enjoy!!!
