Hello.
This is an animation I made to be played back every time I boot my Amiga.
Tech info about the animation:
Frames: 151
Size: 561,182 bytes
Resolution: 640x256, 16 colours (med-res, non-aga)
Playing time: ~6 secs, at 25 fps
Software used: Real 3D 1.4, ADPro (for the motion blur), DPaint 4 (to make
sure it's not aga)
In the animation, the text 'Welcome to Amiga' smoothly glides into the
center of the screen, and then fades out, leaving only the red dot on the
letter I and then the dot disappears.
I won't bore you with the details on how I did it, but if anyone wishes,
I'll email him the R3D animation file. The motion blur is actually just a
mix with the previous few frames, but it looks kinda cool.
OK. To install, I guess you'll need a hard drive, since 500k gets slow to
load off a floppy. Anyway, just put the anim and the sample into your
favourite drawer (I have them in S:) and add something like this to your
startup-sequence (as close to the beginning, right after IPrefs).
runback >NIL: dh1:graphics/vt s:bootanim loop 1 fps 25
runback >NIL: c:play16 s:bootsample.2 filter off
wait 4
The 'wait' is here to pause just enough for VT to load and start playing
the anim, and then the booting continues.
Executive's Timer reports that VT needs ~9 seconds to load and play the
whole anim, so time your boot sequence to finish just after that.
You can use other anim and sound players, I won't mind. :)
The sample was shamelessly ripped from the module 'Little fen-fire' by
Scorpik. Unfortunately, he didn't leave an email address, so I couldn't
reach him, but I hope he won't mind. Here's what he has to say in the mod

The sample is ~16 kHz and lasts about 8 secs, just enough for the anim.
Well, that is about it. Please, don't modify the animation, just spread it
and use it. If you really, really like it, send a postcard to: Jelena
Peterlic, Bartolici 19, 10000 Zagreb, Croatia and write 'Courtesy of Goran
Krajnovic' (she's a neighbour of mine who collects postcards).
DISCLAIMER: No warranty of any kind is expressed or implied. Use at your
own risk. FOR GOD'S SAKE, IT'S AN ANIMATION, NOT WINDOWS 95!
And now, some suggestions about some high quality Amiga shareware:
Executive

Your Amiga will multitask even better, plus you get such neat stuff as
load averages, top, task accounting, nice etc.
EXCELLENT STUFF!
PowerSnap
by Nico Francois
nico@augfl.be
Allows you to copy and paste from ANYWHERE (WB titlebars, MultiView,
PPMore, ...) and to ANYWHERE (Execute command..., shells, utilities...),
with history, multi-line snap and lots of other features.
Both are available on Aminet, and both are worth registering (PowerSnap is
freeware).
